Karin Theunissen has published part of her PhD-research as a peer reviewed article in the British journal ARQ. She argues that the famous diagram of the decorated shed of Venturi Scott Brown has diverted attention from the more important issues at play in the couple's work with regard to architectural composition and typological invention. Theunissen re-connects the projects of Venturi Scott Brown and their designs for interior streets with early modernism and the work of Mies van der Rohe.
