<introduction>

	Concepts and analyses only, don’t lead to architecture. A concept should not be forced into a design, on the contrary: a lot of inspiration and input lies in the very architectural design process itself. That is the focus of materialisation.

	Through materialisation the architect determines the architectural appearance of the design. The material design proces is one of the strongest tools to express one’s ideas, and lasts typically the whole design process.

	The method of design development is about using the right tools and input at the right moment, so that the design develops energetic and smoothly, and acquires a clear coherence and expression.
